FOUNDER'S VISION

They say the most beautiful things in life are a little bit weathered—worn in all the right places, carrying stories you can’t quite explain, but somehow feel. That’s exactly what 318 Vintage Market + Boutique was born from.

I’ve always believed that home should feel like a hug, and that the things we wear and surround ourselves with should hold soul—not just style. After years of building brands rooted in meaning and memory, I found myself dreaming about a space that felt like all my favorite things wrapped into one: vintage treasures with history, timeless pieces that tell a story, cozy boutique finds that feel like “you,” and the kind of home goods that make even the slowest mornings feel special.

So I created 318 Vintage—a moody, soulful boutique soon-to-be tucked inside a restored historic building in Fort Scott, KS. It’s a love letter to all the moments that shaped me: slow Saturdays spent digging through antique shops, homestead mornings filled with purpose, and the magic of giving something old a second life. Every piece we carry is intentionally chosen with story and substance in mind—because around here, nothing is just pretty for pretty’s sake.

And the name? “318” is a quiet tribute to our girl Lillian. She had three copies of her 18th chromosome—a condition called Trisomy 18—and though her time here was short, her presence is stitched into every corner of this business. Her life taught me to look for meaning in the mess, beauty in the broken, and joy in the simple. So 318 is more than a number—it’s a heartbeat. A reminder that love leaves a legacy, and that sometimes the most unexpected stories become the most beautiful parts of our own.

Whether you’re shopping for a vintage chair with character, a linen blouse that feels like home, or vintage inspired pieces that remind you of grandma’s kitchen—we hope 318 feels like your spot. A little wild, a little worn, and full of magic.

Thanks for being here at the beginning. We’re just getting started—but oh, is it going to be something special.

With so much love,

Alivia
